29ish weeks

The Ladies are growing!  We're thinking about getting them pink jackets...
 Sam's growing too.

Grampies has decided that it's her job to test everything.  This appears to make for a suitable nap spot.

Hey y'all! A lot has happened since we last posted. Sam Marie took a fabuloso trip to Utahoso with some friends from Austin, we got four "pullets" (baby chicks), the Beeb started to definitively show, and Mike wrote part of the Texas budget (well, that's still in progress). Here are some highlights of the last few weeks.

The Beeb's first hike...11 miles!
Arches National Park

If only the Beeb's exit route were so spacious...
Arches National Park
PS - Sam Marie got yelled at by photographers for being under the arch.

Don't worry - there's an elevator for pregnant ladies off to the right.

Oh where, oh where, has my mitten gone?
Monument Valley, Utah

Sam Marie thinks, "Maybe if I puff out my cheeks it will distract from my..."

"BELLY!"
- 24 weeks and counting -

It's time to meet "The Ladies", at age 2 days.
Don't let the fuzzy exterior fool you - they're tough as nails!

All "The Ladies" are named for places special to us from our honeymoon.
(Well, three places and one airline.)
Here they are at a week and a half:

Japamala is ready for her close up.

Gunung Mulu will not be outdone.
PS - go back and read that name again a few times, just for fun.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Berjaya!

Good luck pronouncing this one...it's Kinabatangan!

Mike likes to keep his chicks on a tight leash.

You know what they say, birds with no adult feathers stick together.

Lunch? Cuddle buddies? Squeaky toys?

No, it's kitty television!!
Seriously, Gramps has never tried to snag a chick.
She just likes to watch them through their box.

Picture Time!

Hi everyone,
Here are a few pics to give you an idea of what things have been like on the Austin homefront lately... and to introduce you to our new family member (though the beeb is still in utero, so it'll be a while until more formal introductions are made...).

The Beeb! The Beeb!
First photographic appearance...

Sam can still lay on her belly - very helpful during the
first trimester, which was quite tiring.

Gramps acts as both a nap guardian (previous) and companion.

Gramps contemplates what the new addition to the
household will mean for her...

Beeb Belly at 16 weeks, in a TX
snowstorm.

Preparing for motherhood by practicing
the alphabet... sort of.

Gramps tests all toys for safety.

Beeb Belly: 20 weeks, on a typical Austin
Spring day - in the beginning of March.

the sun and some love.

Us on our one-year anniversary... Here's to 70 more!

Never blogged before...

So don't expect much!

Sam Marie and I decided we want to do a blog of the pregnancy and once the beeb hath arriv-ed.  It might take a little while to actually get something posted.  But step one is complete!  Maybe check again in a week or so?  We'll have up some pics of the beeb belly as it grows.  And maybe some recent pics of Grampies, just for fun :)  She is, after all, our first dependent...
